Winslow, AZ
September 18, 2008
Right on schedule. Upon landing we were greeted by Orville Wiseman, proud owner of Winslow Airport. The terminal looks like a movie backdrop from the 1930's. Classic adobe design. To the left of this delightful terminal was the hangar (see above), once belonging to Transcontinental Air Transport, original logo from 1929.
Orville Wiseman gave us an update on all of the new remodeling and activity planned for the vintage terminal. He is doing a wonderful job retaining the vintage magic of such a classic building.
Orville promised to email us some of the photos he took of the airplane and Ruth. BTW we found out that Orville was born in Dayton, Ohio and he's a pilot - destiny?
The flight from Santa Maria to Winslow, AZ was amazing. Flying around 10,000 feet you really have a chance to see America.
